Do I really need one of these? 2007/07/12 07:34 Karma: 0
Pay monthly to join online games, pay through the nose for the game in the first place surely the money would be better spent on a Graphics card or ram.....Ok Halo is a great game and 2 isnt even available for the PC yet but surely that just proves how gullible console gamers are they have already forked out 3 times for the same game, PC people would have made loads of new maps and weapons and loads of free downloads available.
All in all console gsmers are selfish whereas a PC gamer cant wait to share..... go on Ben argue that one.... and no Kindways doesnt need one in the tech room for staff breaks

“Pay monthly to join online games, “

Well yes paying monthly for online games isn’t what we want to hear, but in the age of the PC gamers have been paying for playing online for years, whether it be World of Warcraft, City of heroes or even top priority on a normal Call of Duty server. Where as an Xbox user to play what you want, download game videos, pictures demos and more is just £32.99 a year that’s less than £2.80 a month! Where one game on the PC is normally £10 a month to play. Or to download demos or trailers at a decent speed you have to pay £4.00 a month from fileplanet! So I say again £2.80

“Pay through the nose for the game in the first place surely the money would be better spent on a Graphics card or ram.....”

Well yes if you already own an upgradeable PC yeah upgrade it, max it out you might want to use it, in fact I can guarantee you’ll use it, because PC’s are awesome. But in the first place the reason PC games are cheaper than console games is because the Xbox and consoles like it are substituted, inside those little boxes are dual core power houses and an advanced graphics processor. Yeah a PC is far more powerful but if you were to buy a console without substitution from the manufacturers it would be the price of a high end PC.

“Ok Halo is a great game and 2 isn’t even available for the PC yet but surely that just proves how gullible console gamers are they have already forked out 3 times for the same game, PC people would have made loads of new maps and weapons and loads of free downloads available.”

Yeah this is the crunch, you can’t normally download custom made mods for consoles there strict operating systems and perfect code don’t allow for out of the box ideas or bolt-ons, because you can’t test a console mod because the games code is strict, yes add-ons are becoming more frequent but they will never be the same as a PC communities add-on’s because not everyone can mod a console as the code isn’t freely available, nor are the tools.

”All in all console gamers are selfish whereas a PC gamer cant wait to share..... Go on Ben argue that one.... “

This is a very controversial statement, not true in many cases but found to be true in some. The reason console gamers are portrayed as selfish are because they can’t add mods or maps this makes the console community less close, also communication from PC gamers has been legendary using Msn, Skype, Ventrillo and a variety of voice and chat programs to communicate while gaming, PC games are more broadly sociable but console games are more locally sociable with groups of friends round for a beer.

“And no Kindways doesn’t need one in the tech room for staff breaks”

Google’s company policy have proved this wrong, by introducing a game room into the work place for there staff to use in there breaks, this helps them relax, this is filled with Xbox’s and the like. Thanks for that little bit of info Seether

I have noticed that your staff in the shop share this idea, sometimes in there lunchtimes spending it on the shops Gamer PC defeating hordes of enemies to relieve the stresses of the day. I personally think you should add a games room, this would help your staff lots, and they could sit down in a communal staff area with a sofa a cup of coffee and a console playing a co-op game so two can play. I’m sure Ben would agree with me

I personally love my PC because it can go on for years with a little push in the right direction so i would rather like in first post by Ian would use my money on a second graphics card and i don't think we need a games console if we have top of the range PC that has everything we need because the games always comes out for the computer in the end after they try and squeezes all the money from console players it eventually comes on to PC.So i personally like my PC and it will keep on beating any games console i could possibly think of for next 3 years.
